Faculty Vision

  • To build confidence and to provide enjoyment and a sense of achievement for all students.
  • To encourage positive attitude to learning a foreign language.
  • To foster a positive attitude and develop an insight into understanding countries where the languages are spoken and to speakers of the languages and their culture.
  • To encourage greater cultural awareness of the world around us.

Subjects Included:

We teach five languages: Arabic, French, German, Spanish and Urdu.

Exam Board: AQA – Students are entered at either FOUNDATION or HIGHER Tier for all 4 exams.
Speaking: 25 % final exam in Year 11
Writing: 25 % final exam in Year 11
Listening: 25 % final exam in Year 11
Reading: 25 % final exam in Year 11
Resources include Expo and Studio (French), Echo and Stimmt (German), Mira and Viva (Spanish)
