Leave of Absence in Term Time

If your child has an unauthorised leave of absence their absence will be classed as unauthrosied and the Local Authority may issue a penalty notice. You should also be aware that if their absence exceeds 20 days their name may be removed from our register. With effect from 19th August 2024, the fine will be £160 per parent per child, reduced to £80 each if paid within 21 days and no previous fine has been issued in the last 3 years. If a previous fine (within 3 years) has been issued, there will be no option to pay the reduced amount.

Any leave of absence in term time must be applied for at least 10 days in advance. Parents/carers should complete a request form that can collected by your child from The Attendance Office. The completed form should be returned to the same place.
