Student Leadership
Being a student leader provides students with unique learning opportunities outside the school curriculum, for example, presenting at conferences or in assembly, meeting students from other schools or learning practical skills such as tree planting.
In their leadership role, students will develop their LORIC skills which stand for
- Leadership
- Organisation
- Resilience
- Independence
- Communication
Students are awarded points for their engagement and can obtain badges and certificates in assemblies.
Many clubs take place during the school day at break or lunch time and some after school making them accessible to all students.
Everyone is a Leader
Here at Levenshulme, we believe in a fully inclusive leadership curriculum which is an introduction to leadership skills and available to all students. Therefore, we also offer the ‘Everyone is a Leader’ programme.
Students can complete Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum challenges, for example, organising a charity event in school or exploring a new book in the school library.
