The School Day

Details of Levenshulme High School’s school day, including timings.

    From form time up until the end of period 5 is compulsory for all students, as highlighted below:

    07.30 – 08.30 Breakfast available for students (all years) in the Dining Room
    08.20 – 8:30
    • Monday – Headteacher Briefing
    • Tuesday – Inclusion Briefing
    • Friday – Curriculum and Teaching Briefing (last Friday of half-term celebration)
    08.30 – 08.55 Form Time – (including intervention, mentoring, assemblies and registration)
    08.55 – 09.55 Period 1
    09.55 – 10.55 Period 2
    10.55 – 11.25 Morning Break (bell at 11.20, at which time teachers of P3 in classrooms to greet)

    • Years 10 and 11 can access the Dining Room in the Crossley Building
    • Years 7, 8 and 9 can purchase food and drink in Errwood Hall
    11.25 – 12.25  Period 3
    12.25 – 13.25 Period 4
    13.25 – 14.00 Lunch Break (bell at 13.55, at which time teachers of P5 in classrooms to greet)

    • Years 10 and 11 can purchase food and drink in Errwood Hall
    • Years 7, 8 and 9 can access the Dining Room in the Crossley Building
    14.00 – 15.00 Period 5
    15.05 – 16.05 Detentions
    15.15 – 16.15 Meetings
    15.15 – 16.30 Extra Curricular Activities
    17.30 All students to leave the school site

    Total compulsory time equates to 32.5 hours per week.

    The school is open to students for typically 50 hours a week.


    Emergency Closures

    In the event of disruption from union action, adverse weather conditions or building failures, the school will give as much notice as possible of the changes to the school day.
