GCSE Geography students were finally able to return to fieldwork visits after a break due to COVID-19 restrictions. Our Year 11 students visited Longdendale Valley in the Peak District to carry out a river study. Students studied river theory, risk assessment and fieldwork skills in preparation for the visit.
Despite the very wet weather conditions encountered on the day, and the visit being cut short due to rising levels of the river, students were able to put their learning into practice as well be experience a day in a river valley. A big well done to all students involved.
I’m glad we got to get out of the classroom and see the river in real life.
