End of Half Term 1 Update ( Published: 16/10/2026)

We’d like to wish you a safe and restful break over the October half term holiday. Please see our end of half term letter to learn more about what’s been going on at our school over the past few weeks.

Dear Parents/Carers

In September we launched our 4-year ‘Best in Manchester Best in England’ plan. Our first Half Term of this plan has been packed with activities, great learning, endeavour, drive and a commitment to looking for new ways to do things slightly better! All of this school community effort has been realised through our school values and our kind morals. Many of you attended our Flying Start Evenings, during which we described the academic year ahead and everything we are trying to achieve for our fabulous children here.

Our new 2-week timetable has embedded quickly this Half Term. Learners have maturely adapted to it and enjoyed the better curriculum with less classes split between multiple teachers. We have also settled into several new classrooms that were converted in the summer. This has meant that subjects are now, almost entirely, taught in faculty specific classrooms, which is supporting learning much more effectively. Our new Learning Hub is developing apace for children with SEND. The latest development there has been a therapeutic sensory room, which is a huge hit with learners.

Thank you to all parents for your support with our Standards Drive. Our standards were already strong at Levenshulme but with your help, we have further improved uniform, punctuality (to school and between classes) and behaviour for learning. All of these marginal gains will help better prepare students for college, university, training and later life. In addition, they support effective learning, which will mean better exam grades and prospects. Thank you again everyone.

Our first Whole School Trip Day was a spectacular success! Year 7 had an amazing Biology experience at Chester Zoo! Year 8 were immersed in the Technological Astrophysics of Jodrell Bank. Year 9 combined History, Geography and Music learning on a trip to museums in Liverpool City Centre. Year 10 were taken to the theatre for a creative production of the British classic, Pride and Prejudice. Year 11 enjoyed the thrills of Alton Towers on our traditional pre-exams reward trip. A huge public thank you to all the staff who organised such brilliant off-site experiences. And to the children who represented Levenshulme High School superbly.

After such an intense and successful Half Term, it is now time for a well-earned break. We look forward to seeing everyone on the 2nd November.

Take care all and thank you again for all your support.

Kind regards

Mr Fair
