Students during their Geography fieldwork in the Peak District, in September 2026

Geography Students Conduct Fieldwork in the Peak District ( Published: 16/09/2026)

As part of the Geography fieldwork requirements, Year 11 students investigated the river Crowden in the Peak District.

We are so proud of the whole year group for demonstrating such independence and self-responsibility when working in the river environment.

They all completed their work in record time, leaving space to explore the stunning environment during a walk. This enabled us to look at the burn scars of the recent wildfires and for students to understand the impact of these on the land! We are already looking forward to taking students to Salford Quays next week, to explore the recent regeneration of the area.
