Dear Parents/Carers
This is now the third time that I have written you a letter to close a Half Term. As you will read below, it has been a short but action packed one. With each end of Half Term letter we do an accompanying video. This time we are going to add the video slightly later. The reason is that we want to share some images from our Year 11 Leavers Assembly, which takes place this afternoon (Friday 22/5/26).
It is an emotional day in school today. As you know Year 11 begin their study leave after the Half Term holiday and will only be in school for exams and masterclasses. All are in a reflective mood as we look back on five fabulous years of growth and memories at Levenshulme. I am writing this letter a couple of hours before the assembly and I can only imagine the mixture of excitement and tears ahead of us! We will report back after the week’s holiday.
The first two weeks of the GCSE exam season have gone splendidly. Year 11 learners have prepared excellently and seem positive about the majority of the papers. Our staff have put on brilliant masterclasses to support revision and I must, also, thank learners from Year 7 to 10 for their contributions to amended timetables and calm quiet movement during exams. It is only the halfway point, so as a community we need more of the same in the first two weeks of June.
A major highlight of this Half Term has been Year 10 work experience. Our 203 Year 10s had amazing enriching placements that turbo-boosted their maturity and really started them thinking of their futures. A huge shout out to parents/carers for supporting with placements and to the staff team for their facilitation. A true Levy team effort.
Other fab highlights this Half Term include the Year 8 residential, Year 9 Duke of Edinburgh excursion, Scholars Programme Graduation, Digital Futures Academy Graduation at Old Trafford, our contribution to the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Transphobia, and our Go With the Flow Period Positivity Event. You will see some images from these highlights on our accompanying video. And, also, don’t forget to keep checking our X account (@Levenshulmehigh) to see more coverage of school events.
Next Half Term will, as always, be a busy one. In September the school will have a new Development Plan so there will be consultations with learners and parents/carers in June/July to inform it.
Thank you to everyone for your support again. It is much appreciated. Enjoy the holidays.
Kind regards

Mr Fair
Headteacher
