Year 8
Y8 Art – The Natural World: ‘The Sea’ and ‘Birds’

The breadth of practical skills explored allows students to find their own areas of strength and interests whilst at the same time learning how to contextualise their work.
Pupils create work in response to the theme of nature, learning about why nature has influenced artists throughout art history and why it is still such a popular subject. All students will complete individual final outcomes to evidence their refined skills and conceptual understandings.
Y8 Design Technology
Students rotate to develop subject specialist knowledge in Graphic Design, Textiles and Food Technology.
Graphic design: Considering user needs, students research, design and create an event ticket using photoshop.
Food Technology: Exploring the theme of a healthy balanced diet, students create a range of dishes alongside exploring the properties and food science of ingredients.
