PSHE Curriculum 2026 Update – Consultation ( Published: 05/02/2026)

National statutory guidance for PSHRE has recently been updated and we welcome your thoughts and feedback to help ensure our approach reflects the needs and values of our school community.

National statutory guidance for PSHRE has recently been updated, and all schools must ensure their programmes are clear, age appropriate, and equip young people with the knowledge and skills they need to navigate an increasingly complex world confidently and safely, ready for teaching from September 2026.

As part of this process, we have:

  • Updated our PSHRE curriculum and lesson plans ready for next year
  • Reviewed and updated our policies to reflect these changes
  • Began training staff ahead of September

Before we finalise the curriculum, we are holding a consultation with parents/carers, pupils, and staff. The consultation is now open and ends on Sunday 22nd February 2026. We welcome your thoughts and feedback, via the survey found below, to help ensure our approach reflects the needs and values of our school community.

Lastly, Mr Reed (PSHE Coordinator) will be present at the Year 9 Options event (Wed 11th February 2026) and at Year 7 Progress Evening (Thursday 12th February 2026) to field any questions and promote the consultation.

Your feedback is important and will help us shape a curriculum that supports all pupils’ personal development, wellbeing, and readiness for life beyond school.
