Celebrating Apprenticeship Week 2026 ( Published: 26/02/2026)
We welcomed representatives from The Manchester College, the University of Salford Biomedical Science Degree Apprenticeship Team, and the Manchester Airport Early Careers Team, giving students a real insight into the wide range of apprenticeship pathways available.
One of the highlights of the week was hearing from two young apprentices, currently completing their apprenticeships at University of Salford and Manchester Airport. They spoke honestly about their journeys, the challenges they’ve faced, and the rewards of learning while working. Their stories helped students understand what it really means to study through an apprenticeship and how it can open doors to exciting careers.
We were also pleased to explore opportunities in biomedical science, airport operations, and a range of vocational routes offered through local colleges and employers. These sessions gave students the chance to ask questions, hear real experiences, and see how apprenticeships can provide a practical and successful route into future careers.
The week was a fantastic reminder that there are many paths to success – and apprenticeships are a brilliant option for students who want to gain skills, earn while they learn, and build confidence in the workplace.
We’d like to thank all our visitors for joining us and inspiring our students.
