British Physics Olympiad ( Published: 08/07/2026)
Year 10 students recently participated in the British Physics Olympiad Junior Challenge, a national competition run by the University of Oxford. The challenge presented students with a series of highly demanding questions designed to test their ability to apply physics knowledge to unfamiliar situations and solve complex problems.
A total of 46 students entered the competition and achieved an outstanding set of results. Of those who took part, 17 students were awarded Bronze certificates, 24 achieved Silver, and 5 students secured the highest award of Gold. These exceptional outcomes reflect the creativity, resilience and academic ability of the students involved.
The competition provided an excellent opportunity for students to stretch and challenge their scientific thinking whilst developing valuable problem-solving skills. The school is incredibly proud of all students who participated and congratulates them on their fantastic achievements.
These results are a testament to the brilliance and determination shown by our physics students. The British Physics Olympiad competitions are designed to be extremely demanding, and we are delighted to see so many students achieve such impressive outcomes.
