Languages Week 2026 ( Published: 21/02/2026)

This year we celebrated our Languages Week just before International Mother Language Day, which takes place on the 21st February every year.

This day promotes linguistic and cultural diversity and encourages the preservation of mother languages around the world.

We invited a variety of guest speakers into school to share their experiences and love of languages with each MFL class. We also had taster language sessions in Korean and Russian during lunchtimes. Finally, we finished off the week with a charity fair to raise money for the British Red Cross. Our MFL Leaders worked hard to prepare games, multilingual greetings cards, bracelets and delicious treats to sell at the fair.

We raised over £250 for our chosen charity!
