Manchester Parent/Carer Forum SEND Updates ( Published: 25/02/2026)
On Wednesday 4th February 2026, Jordan Navarro from the Manchester Parent/Carer Forum, Mr Collins (Learning Room Co-Ordinator here at LHS), and a small group of parents met to discuss supporting their children, support in school, neurodiversity friendly events in Manchester, and recent Government changes to SEND policy. One of the first things discussed was the changes in staffing around the school and how this would affect the Inclusion Team, and the pupils they will support.
We were very fortunate to be joined by Jordan Navarro, who is very knowledgeable around the subject of SEND and all things available to parents of SEND children in the Manchester area. He was able to provide the group with some valuable information on the new Government changes happening in regards to the referral process for neurodiverse children, particularly those who are hoping to be/are on the waiting list for an ADHD or ASD diagnoses. He also shared with us some events and workshops which could be valuable to parents of Neurodiverse children.
We also discussed new neuroprofiling tools that may be introduced in these new government changes, and how Levenshulme’s former SENCO, Mrs. D. Jeffries worked with Manchester Healthy Schools to create a neuroprofiling booklet that can help neurodiverse children and their parents better understand what it means to have an ADHD or ASD diagnosis.
We are very lucky at Levenshulme High School to work closely with the Manchester Parent Carer Forum and their highly knowledgeable administrator, Jordan Navarro. As a forum, we meet up once towards the end of every half term. Please keep a close eye on our website for our next meeting, which will likely be at the end of March or start of April.
Mr Collins, Learning Room Coordinator
These meetings are open to any parents of Neurodiverse children who attend Levenshulme High School.
