Students Help launch Connected Creatives’ Competition ( Published: 12/03/2019)
Connected Creatives is a web-based platform, which empowers young people to self-publish their creative writing in English and share their work with teachers, family and peers. Year 8 students were involved in the project and wrote various thought provoking stories and poetry. The following students won prizes for their poems:
Haiqa – ‘Lost!’
Ariba – ‘Fab Five’
Aisha – ‘The Haunted House’
Mr Ali was involved throughout the process and received a certificate for his commitment to the project. Yasmin Hussain, Faculty Outreach Manager at Manchester Metropolitan University, awarded the prizes. She said:
We are grateful to Mr Ali for all his enthusiasm and support to encouraging the pupils to take part in our digital platform. His feedback is invaluable and we will develop our fruitful relationship into the future.
Connected Creatives selected Levenshulme High School as one of three schools to pilot the scheme, which will be rolled out nationally, thanks in part to the success of our students.
